A day in the life of India

Thats the shit i was talking about : Aman ki asha

with 20 comments

As the rolled TOI was lying in the balcony, i saw the pics of white pigeons. I said what the shit, No rape and murder on front page, how unlikely of times of india. I opened thinking that it must be a full page ad. But it wasnt it read “love pakistan” TOI is pressing the uncommon button. Toi going for nobel peace prize with their aman ki asha campaign after winning lions at the cannes for the teach india and lead india campaign. This kind of stuff is actually harmful to their paper business. The mainstream media essentially runs on wars, crime and hatred. What are they going to print, if there is no atankwadi hamlas. Peace is not good, atleast for the media.

Now this concept is interesting, but i believe that it wont work. Pakistan is too jealous of India, as i have always maintained that jealousy is the main factor for most of the problems in this world, jealousy is hidden and then later it transforms into other emotions, but at the base its always jealousy.
So what exactly is the shit i m talking about. I m saying the effort should not have been from a publishing house from india and pakistan. But from the people. Only then it will work, who the fuck will listen to a MSM (mainstream media). How much would they spend, how will be consensus generated among the aam aadmi. A lot of resource will have to be poured into print, tv, internet and outdoors. What happened to the lead india or teach india campaign, not a shit changed. I guess due to lack of news they are just creating forced, self sponsored content about peace. If the TOI really cared, they should have formed an association with all the MSM publishers. But no, they didnt do that, they are just looking for an award. How the fuck they are going to reach non-english readers. Its not a people campaign, they are just going to have a conference or shit with business and political leaders and thts it, and it will flop, it will flop big time, wait for a next bomb to blow.
This initiative should have been done by people like us, the netizens, the bloggers. The power shouldnt be with the MSM, it should be with the people. I would quote a line from v for vendetta “People shouldnt be afraid of the government, government should be afraid of the people”. In todays context there are only three powerful group that exercise complete control of the people. The government, business owners and the Media. Today we have the power, but that power wont come if we act as an individual, we need to unite, the power will be of the collective. And we are lucky to be at a time when the things are the easiest, because we have the internet. Internet represents freedom, the freedom to unite, the freedom to be face less. Its the V for vendetta situation, the internet is giving us the mask, and the platform which is literally free. Thats what we intend to do with the wet dream project. A platform for the anonymous. A bridge between virtuosity and reality. A non-binding collective membership for a cause.
Just wondering if the WDP platform was up and running, we could have crashed the dishtv server by now with simultaneous hits. Thats what i call making a point. Thats what i call power. We could have crashed their inboxes, jammed their phone lines. It could have been fucking awesome. And we wont have any identity, nobody will know who did it, you cant blame a crowd. thats the power of collective. Thats the shit i was talking about..

  1. Good start for the blogging year with a real meaningful post. Truth is that the government, business owners and the Media, all of them are a bunch of !@#$%^&! All they will look after is their own security. They would go so far as to play with people emotions for their own profits. What TOI is doing with this campaigning thing is just that.

  2. Nice Post. But, on the whole, making a point for peace is not a bad thing. Though as u said, TOI is probably after an award than anything else. At least it creates some kind of awareness. That's important. That can be the first step. We could follow it up.Bloggers, writers, activists etc can only do so much. Ya the people will have to wake up. But it will have to be through the political process. There is simply no other way. We don't have to develop a phobia of politics and politicians. We should in fact be more involved in politics. Only then will we see lasting change. But yes, that has to come from the people.

  3. A revolution through the Net? is that what I am getting out of this? Well, good luck then … but even this revolution needs Web-literate people, and India can't yet boast of a 99% success. But as other revolutions rose, may be some day …What happened to the Wet Dream project?

  5. @darshan exactly@ajai.. i see absolutely no reason for having politics or politicians, there are other ways to get it done, its the people who have to decide the policies, govt. shud just listen@idle.. Net will just be the trigger point, it will spread thru non-internet users with the help of msm.. the net will trigger a news that the main stream cant ignore to report, and thru the main stream itself the revolution will spread..I guess i need to first generate enuf readership if the wet dream project has to take off, will change the platform as well..i hope i cud do something in 2010@yemil.. dishtv has finally started, i have some plans for WDP. @

  8. interesting thought….true media thrives on war and mass hysteria…but if you really wanna achieve anything seriously meaningful you will need the help of the fucking MSM….coz how many people do you think actually blog max 1%….one cannnot get anywhere with that number..

  9. Public is too busy trying make the ends meet.. common janta from either country doesnt give a damn as long as there are no bombs going off in public places.i wudnt give it much importance, the ad or the thought about peace between India and Pak. its as unlikely as snowstorm in MumbaiIf there is peace, good enough.. otherwise we are too used to living in the constant state of hatred..

  11. @sorc yes thts wht we need, the power shud be with the people@vici.. havent seen the tv ad yet@oxy.. the idea tht i m thinking of has a provision for tht, just assume iff 50% of the net surfers come to a web page in a day, how much ad revenue it can generate, and this money can be used for hoardings, print and tv ads.. we will ride on the main stream to deliver our message.@chhay.. yeh i know nobody cares about it, but what i can sense is that, people are begging to stand up, u see how all stupid ppl get their candle, and protesting stuff, the gay parades.. i can see that people are willing to standup, they want to be part of something.. people want to fight,, fight against something, what ever it may be..which means its time for revolution..I didnt notice the time thing, anyway how is it set?, i cudnt find any options

  13. I liked the beginning para of this piece. It sends out a very strong message for the discerning. And, I also liked the various statements you make. This is one of the best posts I have read for a while at your blog. Please do write such moving ones in the future as well. And about standing up for our rights, I don't think that is a plausible scenario. Many people tried waking up the dead, but dead people don't wake up, do they? Anyways, we need people like you to tell us that we are dead so that at least our conscience wakes up.Was away the entire last week. So reading all missed posts now. 🙂

  16. actually, I am working on the satellite thingy…errr…I always hated when they chop off good movies coz "they might make you think bad".I am really surprized by the irony here, those politicians have their rave parties where they have naked women dancing on bidi jalile!! that my friend was the most vulgar thing I've ever seen. These people don't have class. These same politicians control the media and decide what we should and not see!!Well, I'll find a way around the "censors", nobody is going to take my right of living a free life!I am going to find a way re-program the set-top box, the problem is that the bloody thing is made in China, they don't even have proper serial numbers inside. Need a cable and software to connect the darn box to the PC. You can get the azimuth, elevation , transponder bandwidth and frequency of all the pretty satellites from the Internet. If i figure this out I'll keep you posted!! I always find a way around, it's just a matter of time. And in case you do let me know about it, any information can be helpful.I think that if people only just share knowledge, we wont have to fight those idiots.there is no point in teaching lesson to those things!! it's just pointless.I like to silently fool them. Nothing freaks them out more than the fact that there is a their baap out their.

  19. I liked the first para the most…But you know what… I'm fed up of this 'we need to unite' stuff…Only a miracle can get us together now. with majority of people not wanting aman at all… seems a little far-fetched
