Darshan in last comment said he expected a topic now so its time. Let me tell you how i find topics. Its very interesting to notice how the brain functions. So i stood up from the pc. Started observing things around me, took a walk thru the rooms noticed the things.. books – education – learning yeh thts a topic but will do later. Moved to balcony.. sabji wala – chicken shop at the end of the road – food – people.. recollecting incidents related to the topic.. connect them and the topic is ready.
Once krishna told me these days he has become very shaant as he has been avoiding non veg and drink due to acidity problem. So does it mean non vegetarian food make people prone to anger or for that matter make them violent?. Lets see. Every animal that is carnivorous needs to hunt and for that it has to be violent. So isnt it logical to believe that eating meat would make one violent. The kind of food one takes will certainly have some effect on the body and the mind, particular hormones and chemicals would be secreted in response to the food we eat. So how much effect food can have on behavior or nature of a person. Does people eating particular food develop particular characteristic. Can we change our behavior by consuming certain foods?.
Being in India we see so much diversity around, different people, different culture and different food habits. Any person in India can just observe a person and tell from which state he is. We often can comment on nature and personality of a person by the state he is from, and mostly its true. How much of this can be attributed to the food they eat?. Lets compare food types across india and the nature of people from there. I havent traveled much neither have i met many people of different cultures, so will write about a few that i know.
One of the main feature of India is the number of people who are vegans, a huge number of vegans you can find across the country. You will notice they are soft spoken, non violent and softy types. Especially most gujaratis. The gujarati food is mostly sweet, with less masala’s and all. The general population is non creative types, and those few who are creative are awesomely creative. We have to understand that this is one of regions suffering from lack of rains, which promotes cattle rearing, thus milk products become main part of their staple diet. Desert type regions also make them kanjoos and also good traders. Same can be seen in the people of rajasthan they also share similar diets, and nature. No wonder that majority of the businesses in india are owned by gujaratis, rajasthani’s and parsis. well parsis also migrated into india from iran which is a desert region.
There was this joke that my chacha used to tell about a sardar and a south indian. In that the main thing said was that wheat makes people stronger and rice makes them intelligent. I dont know if it has any scientific truth in it but you can see that people from rice eating south are better in education mostly in maths and science subjects. South Indians and West bengal people are mostly rice and fish eaters, and you can find similarity in them esp lot of similarities between mallus and wb people. Not to forget their leftist ideologies. What makes people from 2 extreme corners of the country so similar. I guess its the food. They are also more into art, literature and culture stuff, most people have artistic tendencies. But there is one difference between the mallus and WB ppl. Mallu’s make excellent workers, they are just good at following orders i guess. Thats why you can see a lot of them in army unlike bengalis whom i would rather call lazy and soft people. What makes them soft? the extra sweet dishes that they dont share with mallus.
And marathis all warrior types ready to fight, what about them i wonder. They are kind of very jealous people. They do go in army, also some times make good workers, but they have this typical fighting tendency like the muslims. violent people. I m not sure what marathis generally eat but i guess they must be eating a lot of masale daar and spicy theekha food. That could generate anger and the fighting nature like the rajputs, neither do i know what rajputs eat but it must be spicy because they show those rajasthani’s in mdh masala chilly powder ad.
And muslims i dont have to say much about them, most of you know my views. They have become super harami by consuming meat all the time. We cant blame them for that, since they are from desert region so they have to depend on meat. One might argue most western christians are also meat eaters, well they too have been very violent in the past as they also share a desert background. Scarcity can bring both the best and the worst in you, it all depends on the surrounding. Also the muslims eat halal meat. In halaling they dont kill the animal in an instant like most people do so as to cause the least pain to the animal. In halal they slowly cut the neck of the animal, and the animal suffers for many minutes before finally dying. Yeh their prophet said them to eat only halal meat. Fucking nonsense.
I m tired aint writing any more. Due to my limited social interaction with people of other regions i cant comment on them. I do know about people of UP but that is only 1 or 2 person so a valid interpretation cant be derived from limited sample size. I have been able to write about marathis because there are lot of marathi’s in baroda, because the raja of baroda was a marathi. I dont say all marathis and muslims are haramis as there are always some exceptions. Like me, i m not a typical hard working mallu, i m more like a mix of a gujju and mallu. I would say it could be the effect of gujju food.
P.S. If you are from a particular state/religion about whom i have been negative and you feel angry then apni maa phada because i dont care what you feel, but at the same time you are welcome to give me gaalis or whatever u like.

  1. i agree with the food habits logic, and in west there is this logic also that one who eats lot of meat and does kind of hard labour, he/she ought to be good in bed :)In tamils u can find the same thing , a tamil brahmin and other tamil who eats non-veg will have lot of difference in terms of behaviourBut if u take punjabi they all are same , almost everyone eats non -veg …

  3. LOL, never analyzed a mallu brain though I had some mallus as good friends. Yours is a critical mix, they should really scan yours to see what really gets inside it at times!I am a sweet freak, guess that makes my mind idle. Do you support that idea?

  4. I have thought often about food habits and ppl. But there are far too many exceptions. Brahmins for eg. all veg. But most of them are extra-competitive and cut throat. Similarly when you say about Gujjus… maybe physically they are not very aggressive… but when it comes to money/business they are super-aggressive. I'm not discounting your post. But I don't think you can completely make out a guy from his food habits.

  7. An interesting take, though I am sure that there are many other aspects that make a people of a region the way they are. But, I cannot agree with you more that food also has an affect.

  8. Wow! The Uncommon Sense is back!! I loved this! I love this kind of posts. Filled with logic (though not always 100% right), humor, wittiness, and a lot of bindast-giri. That's so much like you! Thanks for doing this post!Your analysis in this post about the effect of the food on people's nature is not wrong. Nice observation.Going off topic, if you have a Facebook account then please follow this link – http://www.facebook.com/darshanchande#!/notes/darshan-chande/125/455414324166I want links to best of articles which strongly demolish the believers' arguments about the existence of God and prove superiority of Atheism flawlessly. Could you provide me some?

  10. Okay. I have accepted your req. Please do that. I know you have more mastery in this subject than me. I take a lot of time to find points that won't have a flaw in them.I wanted to look for you on FB for a long time but didn't know your name.In the future I want to write a strong article which would demolish the believers' arguments. Might take your help directly, or indirectly reading your past articles on religions and god.

  11. jo andar jaata hai wahi bahar aata hai, albeit a bit processed 😀 it's like shit man, if we eat good food the shit is consistent, and if we eat bad food, we might not even shit at all.And like shit, our thoughts are also influenced by food. I used to eat non veg and felt angry all the time, i stopped and i've been calm. Besides when an animal dies, it dies in fear, halaal or jhatka, and fear releases toxins in the animal's body which are harmful for humans. There's been research done on it, you can google it :Pgood post as always :DRock on!N

  12. Idiot..food habits have nothing to do with the psycological behaviour ..!Aggressiveness depends on the culture and the social atomsphere where one lives.
